Free Tools for Schools and Teachers: 100+ Learning Tools and What to Print

100+ free online tools for schools and teachers, Class 1 to 12: certificate maker, passport photo maker, worksheets, quizzes and learning games. Plus what to print for ID cards, prizes and events.

Free tools for schools and teachers next to printed ID cards, certificates and medals

Quick answer: Schools and teachers can use ClassHud Learning Tools for free. It has more than 100 online tools for Class 1 to 12, including a certificate maker, a passport size photo maker, a worksheet maker, a quiz maker and learning games for every subject. There is no sign-up, no app and no cost, and it works for every board. Make your certificates, photos and QR codes there for free, then get the things that must last, like ID cards, medals and trophies, printed by a school printer like mustprint.

At mustprint, we print ID cards, lanyards, badges, medals and trophies for schools every week. Teachers often tell us the same thing: the printing is easy, but getting the work ready takes too long. Student photos come in different sizes. Certificates need a designer. A worksheet comes from one website and a quiz from another, and half of them ask you to sign up first.

So when we found one free place that does most of this work, we wanted to share it. This guide explains every tool in very simple words. It also shows which jobs you can finish for free on screen, and which ones are worth printing properly.

What you will like most

  • It makes phone time useful. Children use phones anyway. These tools give them games that teach, in place of endless reels.
  • It feels like play. Padhai Cricket, Quiz Adventure, Sudoku, Hangman, Tangram and Maths Bingo feel like games, so children come back to them.
  • One page, not twenty websites. Times tables, the periodic table, Python, a certificate maker and a passport photo maker are all in one place.
  • It is made for India. It has Indian money, Hindi letters, Gurmukhi letters, CBSE-style letters, Navodaya and Sainik school practice, and admission age as per NEP 2020.
  • Teachers save hours. The free Certificate Maker can make certificates for a full class in one go.
  • It is private. Photos and logos stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

How do I turn my child's screen time into learning time?

Every parent knows this moment. The child says "just five minutes" on the phone, and one hour later they are still watching reels. Taking the phone away does not work for long. A better idea is to put something more useful on the same screen.

That is the main idea behind these tools. A child who plays a 5-over game of Padhai Cricket is revising maths. A child racing the timer in the Times Table Speed Quiz is getting faster at tables. A child who builds an atom or looks at the planets is learning science, and it does not feel like study.

Five simple steps for parents

  1. Swap, don't just stop. When screen time starts, open a learning game in place of a video app.
  2. Start with the fun ones. Padhai Cricket, Quiz Adventure, Sudoku, Hangman and Tangram are good first picks.
  3. Make it a daily habit. The Daily Brain Workout takes only eight minutes a day: eight small games of 60 seconds each.
  4. Play together. Padhai Cricket has a two-player mode on one phone, so you can play against your child.
  5. Cheer every win. When your child beats their best score, make a certificate with the Certificate Maker and give it to them.

Tip: A printed certificate means much more to a child than a message on a screen. Stick it on the wall at home, and watch them try to win the next one.

What kinds of tools are there?

The tools come in seven kinds. Here is what each kind does, with an example.

Kind of tool What it does Example
Simulation Lets you see and play with an idea Build an Atom, Lens and Mirror Ray Diagram
Calculator Solves a sum and shows each step LCM and HCF Step-by-Step, Quadratic Equation Solver
Quiz Asks questions and checks the answer at once Grammar Practice Quiz, World Capitals Quiz
Game Teaches through play Padhai Cricket, Sudoku for Kids, Maths Bingo
Maker Makes something you can print or share Worksheet Generator, Certificate Maker, Collage Maker
Chart A page to read, explore and print Interactive Periodic Table, Maths Formula Sheet
Classroom Helps the teacher run the class Noise Meter, Focus Timer, Thought of the Day

Who can use these tools?

  • Students can practise, check homework, revise for exams, and see ideas like fractions, circuits and planets with their own eyes.
  • Teachers can make worksheets, quizzes and certificates in a few minutes, and run class games on the smart board.
  • Parents can help children practise at home, and finish small school jobs like a passport size photo or checking the right admission age.
  • Schools can use them for the morning assembly, house competitions, certificates and the admission desk.

Do these tools work only for CBSE?

No. They work for every board: CBSE, ICSE and ISC, State Boards, IB and Cambridge. Fractions, grammar, maps, the periodic table and coding are the same in every syllabus. A few tools add extra help for India, like CBSE-style letter formats and the NEP 2020 admission age, and these are useful for everyone.

What makes these tools different?

There are many free tools on the internet. But it is hard to find one free place that has everything, and is made for Indian classrooms. This is what makes these tools stand out:

  • Made for India. Indian notes and coins, Indian and International number names, Indian states and capitals, CBSE-style letters, and mental ability practice for Navodaya and Sainik school exams.
  • Three languages. Hindi varnamala and barakhadi, Gurmukhi painti, Hindi and Punjabi typing, numbers 1 to 100 in three languages, and cricket commentary in Hindi and Punjabi.
  • Free for real. No sign-up, no app, no limit and no free trial that runs out.
  • Private. The tools work inside your browser. The passport photo maker never sends your photo anywhere.
  • Ready for the smart board. Padhai Cricket has a full-screen class mode, and the classroom tools are made to show on the big board.
  • Always growing. New tools are added from time to time.

How can teachers use these tools in a normal week?

Here is one simple plan for a school week.

Day Tool How to use it
Monday Thought of the Day Pick the thought for the morning assembly, in English, Hindi or Punjabi
Tuesday Padhai Cricket Play a 5-over match on the smart board to revise the week's chapter in about ten minutes
Wednesday Maths Worksheet Generator Print homework with an answer key in two minutes
Thursday Quiz Maker Share a quiz link with the class. Students answer without logging in.
Friday Group Maker and Noise Meter Make fair groups for an activity, and keep the noise down
Saturday Certificate Maker Print certificates for the week's winners

A closer look at Padhai Cricket

Padhai Cricket is one of the most loved tools in the whole set. It turns a quiz into a T20 match, and every question is one ball.

  • Fast answers score more. A right answer in the first quarter of the time is a six. Slower right answers score a four, then two runs, then one run. A wrong answer, or no answer, is a wicket.
  • One DRS review in each innings takes away two wrong options, so you get a second chance.
  • Pick a subject: Maths, Science, English, General Knowledge, or a mix. Maths questions are made fresh each time, so they never repeat. The other subjects use more than a thousand questions.
  • Pick a level: Class 3 to 5, Class 6 to 8, or Class 9 to 12.
  • Commentary comes in English, Hindi or Punjabi, on screen or read aloud.
  • Class mode fills the smart board. Students press keys 1 to 4 to answer. A 5-over match takes about ten minutes.

A closer look at the free Certificate Maker

If your school saves only one tool, make it this one. Schools give certificates all year: class tests, spelling bees, sports day, science fairs, Children's Day, annual day, house events and full attendance. Usually this means waiting for a designer. Here it takes a few minutes.

  • Five kinds: Appreciation, Participation, Merit, Achievement and Excellence, and you can also make your own.
  • Ready words for Sports Day, Science Exhibition, Full Attendance, Olympiad Rank and Teachers' Day. You can change every line.
  • Five designs: classic, modern, elegant, kids and minimal, in the colour you like.
  • Your school's name and logo, with two signatures, for example the class teacher and the principal.
  • A full class at once. Type one name on each line, and you get one certificate for each student. You can add a reason after a name, like "for first prize in the 100 m race".
  • Print or save. Print one, print all, or save them all as sharp A4 landscape pictures.
  • No watermark and no payment, and your logo stays on your own device.

Tip: Certificates look much better when they come with a medal or a trophy on stage. See our annual day trophies planning guide, or browse trophies and awards and acrylic medals made with your school logo.

How can students use these tools to prepare for exams?

  1. Plan. Make a day-by-day plan with the Study Timetable Generator. Keep some days only for revision.
  2. Focus. Study in 25-minute blocks with the Focus Timer.
  3. Revise. Use the Maths Formula Sheet, the Periodic Table and the Physics Formula Calculator.
  4. Remember. Make your own cards with the Flashcard Maker.
  5. Practise. Try the Grammar Quiz, Mental Ability Practice and Vedic Maths Tricks.
  6. Check. See your percentage and CBSE grade with the Marks and Grade Calculator.
  7. Keep your attendance safe. CBSE board exams need 75% attendance. The Attendance Percentage Calculator tells you how many classes you still need.

Which tools should parents start with at home?

Your child's class Good tools to start with
Class 1 to 3 Hindi Varnamala, Gurmukhi Painti, Learn to Read the Clock, Indian Money and Change, Tangram, Handwriting Sheets
Class 4 to 6 Times Table Speed Quiz, Fraction Visualiser, Spelling Bee, India States and Capitals, Human Body Explorer
Class 7 to 10 Graph Plotter, Periodic Table, Lens and Mirror Ray Diagram, Grammar Quiz, Stream Selector
Class 11 and 12 Python Playground, Matrix Calculator, Projectile Simulator, Career Explorer

Parents also like the everyday tools. You can make a passport size photo for a school form, scan a document into a PDF, or use the Admission Age Calculator to see which class your child can join.

How can schools use these tools?

  • Admission desk: The Admission Age Calculator answers the most common question from new parents in a few seconds.
  • Assembly: A new Thought of the Day every morning, for 365 days.
  • Sports day and house events: Show the House Points Scoreboard on a big screen.
  • Certificates: Make them for competitions, events and annual day, without a designer.
  • School office: Use the Document Scanner, Image Compressor and QR Code Maker for daily paperwork.
  • Parents: Put the tools link in a school notice, so children practise at home with tools the school trusts.

Tip: A QR code printed on the back of a student ID card or a school diary can open the school website or the tools page in one scan. Make the code with the QR Code Maker, and upload your design when you order your cards.

Why are these tools free?

Because simple learning tools should not be locked behind a login or a payment page. A child practising tables, a teacher printing a worksheet late at night, or a parent who needs a passport photo for a school form should not have to pay or sign up.

There is no catch. No free trial that ends after seven days, no limit on how many times you use a tool, and no account to make. What you type or upload stays on your own device.

What is coming next?

The list keeps growing. New tools are added from time to time for every subject, and for teachers and schools too. The easiest way to keep up is to bookmark classhud.com/learning-tools and visit it often.

Do you have an idea for a tool your class needs? Call the ClassHud helpline on 70096-90096 and tell them. Your idea could be the next tool on the list.

Who makes these tools?

The tools are made by Smartway Media Pvt. Ltd., a Ludhiana company that has built technology for Indian schools since 2009. The same team makes two sister platforms:

  • ClassHud hosts the free learning tools. It is also an online directory of all kinds of institutes, where parents and students can search for institutes and compare them before they choose. So the same website that helps a child with maths tonight can help the family pick the right institute tomorrow.
  • Class ON is a school ERP used by schools in more than 24 states. It runs admissions, attendance, fees, exams, report cards and messages to parents from one place. A school on Class ON can send the tools link to every parent through the Class ON parent app. To see a demo, call 90237-90237.

Which free tools help with school printing?

The free tools are great for work on the screen, and for quick prints on an office printer. But some things are handled every day, worn for a full year, or given on stage. Those are worth printing properly on PVC, acrylic or metal, so they don't tear, fade or bend. Here is how the two fit together.

Free tool (on screen) What it helps you get ready What to print to last
Passport Size Photo Maker Student photos in the same size, on a plain background Student ID cards with lanyards
Background Remover Clean photos with a white or school-colour background Acrylic ID cards and parent cards
Certificate Maker Certificates for every winner and participant Acrylic medals and trophies for the stage
House Points Scoreboard House scores on the big screen House badges for captains and prefects
Collage Maker A class photo collage with names Acrylic group photos for farewells
QR Code Maker A QR code for the school website or the tools page The back of ID cards, or custom stickers
Classroom tools A smoother class on the smart board Classroom name plates for every room

Three simple rules before you print

  1. Use one photo size for all students. The photo maker makes this easy. Mixed sizes are the most common reason ID card orders get delayed.
  2. Keep names in one Excel sheet. The same list works for the Certificate Maker, and for printing ID cards with every student's details. Check spellings once, and use the list everywhere.
  3. Keep the school logo as a good PNG or JPG file. A sharp logo looks good on a certificate on screen, and on a printed card or medal.

Tip: Ordering for the whole school? Our back-to-school printing checklist lists what to order and when, and our schools page explains how bulk prices work. You can also upload your own design if it is already made.
